Airway epithelial cells form a continuous lining in the airways and play a unique role as a protective physical and functional barrier to external deleterious agents. Human small airway epithelial cells (HSAEpC) regulate the immune responses by contributing to host defense through chemokine production [1] and adhesion molecule expression [2]. They also produce liquids contributing to pulmonary fluid balance. Many airway diseases, such as asthma, bronchiolitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and cystic fibrosis, involve damage to the airway surface epithelium. <span style=\"line-height: 18.9091px\">HSAEpC are qualified for functional studies to investigate disorders such as asthma or pulmonary inflammation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>iXCells Biotechnologies provides high quality HSAEpC, which are isolated from human lung tissue and cryopreserved at P1, with &gt;0.5 million cells in each vial. HSAEpC express cytokeratin-18, -19, and vimentin.
